At the press conference for Squid Game Season 3, held on June 9 at Dragon City in Yongsan, Seoul, questions surrounding a spoiler incident involving actress Park Gyu‑young had previously shared a photo on social media that appeared to reveal key storyline elements from Season 2.
When asked about the matter, Park Gyu‑young responded evasively, “I know many are curious about the narrative arc between No‑eul (Park Gyu‑young) and Gyeong‑seok (Lee Jin‑wook), but I hope you’ll discover it in Squid Game Season 3.” Her answer notably lacked any expression of apology or remorse.

Director Hwang Dong‑hyuk, present alongside cast members including Lee Jung‑jae, Lee Byung‑hun, and Im Si‑wan, addressed the controversy, “When the photo was posted, I was taken aback. I did ask why it happened. However, mistakes are human, and it’s unfair to dwell on one. We consider it a minor incident and moved on.”
He added, “Some viewers may have felt disappointed by the spoiler, but please understand that it did not significantly impact the entertainment value of the series.”

He also defended Park Gyu‑young, saying, “She has already experienced regret over the mistake. It’s not necessary to impose additional restrictions. But ensuring it doesn’t recur is up to her.”
Park Gyu‑young herself appeared to deflect the question, offering no remorse, “Please look forward to discovering the No‑eul and Gyeong‑seok storyline in Season 3.”
Squid Game Season 3, premiering June 27, follows Gi‑hun (Lee Jung‑jae) as he re‑enters the deadly games and confronts the Front Man (Lee Byung‑hun) after tragic loss.
